Amazon Sophos – AI-Powered Financial Data Assistant
Overview
Sophos is an AI-powered chatbot that helps Amazon Finance teams get answers from data by asking questions in plain English. It removes the need to write SQL or rely on technical teams, saving time and speeding up decisions.
The Problem
Finance teams spent hours waiting for reports from BI engineers. This caused:
Slow decision-making
Limited ability to explore data
Time lost (2–4 hours per user each week)
Goals
Make data access fast and easy
Let users ask questions in natural language
Build trust with accurate answers
Cut down reliance on technical teams
